The Oyster Bar

Highly recommend for a date night! We've had excellent experiences the 3 times that we've dined here in the past year. Food is amazing and I love the half & half entree option so you can try multiple things in one visit. Best Clam Chowder ever! Small disclaimer, all seating is VERY TIGHT since this is an old building so if you want a place more intimate and private, this is not the place for you since you'll be bumping elbows with your neighbor. Servers have always been super attentive but it's a slower dining experience so make sure you have adequate time to enjoy!

Those of you who are from Fort Wayne know what I'm going to say about the oyster bar. For those of you from out of town and looking for an amazing local restaurant experience this is one of the places in Fort Wayne that you need to try. The food here is incredibly amazing. Don't come in here thinking you're going to get away with $10 a piece for a meal and a drink. You're going to pay a little bit for what you get, but it's absolutely worth it. The fried calamari is some of the best that I've ever had. I got a seafood dish served over English muffin and it was amazing. I would get this everyday if I could. The oyster bar is located in an old building similar to what you might find at Coney Island. Very narrow walkway and is one of the establishments in Fort Wayne that have been around for so long that you can actually walk through the kitchen just like Coney Island as well. It would be tough for a party that had people who have difficulty getting around in tight spaces. Reservations are required so regardless of the size of your party, give them a call and get on the reservation list. I imagine if you're just going to belly up to the bar and get a drink or some food that you would not need a reservation. But if you want to sit down with your people and have a meal. Then you need to call ahead and get a reservation. I rarely give out five star reviews but this place earns it. Go check it out right now.

WOW! The Oyster Bar was recommended by a local co-worker from Huntington as a great place to go for a seafood dinner in the Fort Wayne area, and I have to tell you, she was SPOT ON! 1: Atmosphere/Ambience = 10 2: Service = 10 3: Menu = 10 4: Quality of Food = 10.9 This was my first of what will be many times here. To be fair, it's NOT inexpensive, but the price definitely seems appropriate for the quality and quantity of food that you get for that price!

Amazing Fort Wayne institution that is still as good as the first time I ate here. Over 30 years ago. The current staff carry the tradition of attention to detail, cheer in a cramped space and hospitality that seems to have disappeared elsewhere. The drinks and appetizer were exceptional. The main dishes had fish that was flaky and fresh taste. I still wonder after all these years-how do they get fresh fish to Fort Wayne in time to serve. The fish and scallops were fresher than what I ate next to water in Florida. Thank you for carrying on the local tradition.

We went to Oyster Bar for my birthday, and had a lovely first experience. Our waitress was fantastic too, but I don't remember her name. It's very cozy and the atmosphere/ambience is great. We want to try the backroom next time. We had Oysters, drinks, chowder, and entrees. Don't skip the chowder, it's excellent. I felt like I was on the east coast eating at a great seafood joint.

First off you have to get the Louisiana shrimp for the appetizer. Then get the filet with scallops. Super cool and neat “hole in the wall” spot in Fort Wayne. Supposed to make a reservation but they had seats at the bar for us so that was neat and the bartender Natasha is super funny cool and very easy going. If you’re looking for great steak and seafood spot in Fort Wayne look no longer . It is this spot for sure!
